Nepenthes are perhaps the most fascinating and specialised carnivorous plants on planet Earth.
Nepy is a Nepenthes field reference app containing fully illustrated entries for the majority of recognised species, including:
- two representative pitcher photographs for each species
- descriptions with guidance on pronunciation, species distribution, range, elevation, etymology, and additional field notes
- advanced filtering by region, altitude, pitcher type, and keywords
- favourites and personal collections such as wishlist and seen in habitat
- a compare mode to view two species side by side
- pronunciation audio for species names
- personal notes and sightings, including locations, dates, and photos
- a simple picture quiz to help you learn to identify species
- no in-app banners or ads
The Nepenthes entries are based primarily on data published in peer reviewed research papers, specialist literature relating to the genus, as well as on the general observations of a number of specialists. However, all entries are written in accessible English.
